The Real Root of All Evil (It's Not Money)
For centuries, people have said that money is the root of all evil. But is it really? From my perspective, money is not the villain—it’s simply a tool. Money buys options. It allows you to choose where you live, what you drive, and even how you take care of your health. Without money, you’re trapped in the jungle of capitalism without any protection.
The true root of evil, as I see it, is sex—or more specifically, the lack of sexual discipline.
Why Sexual Discipline Matters
Sex itself is not evil. In fact, a healthy desire for intimacy is a sign of overall well-being. But when sex becomes an obsession or a drug, it can take possession of the human body and mind. The word “horny” even carries connotations of being overtaken by animalistic impulses.
History is filled with examples of powerful, influential people who have fallen due to uncontrolled sexual behavior—Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Vince McMahon, and many more. When discipline is absent, sex transforms from a healthy act of intimacy into a destructive force.
The Tolerance Effect
Just like with drugs, sexual indulgence increases tolerance. What starts as “normal” sexual activity can escalate into extreme behaviors: threesomes, orgies, violent fetishes, or acts of domination. At this point, ordinary intimacy no longer satisfies the person, and their cravings spiral into darker, more destructive territory.
Serial killers such as Jeffrey Dahmer also reveal how unchecked sexual fantasies can merge with violence and perversion, leading to catastrophic outcomes.
The Pornography Trap
Today’s teenagers face an even greater challenge because of the easy access to pornography. A 14-year-old exposed to it can quickly develop an addiction, escalating to extreme content that reshapes their expectations of intimacy. When confronted with a real relationship, ordinary intimacy may no longer feel fulfilling.
Pornography, in this sense, functions like a drug. It feeds the tolerance cycle and distorts natural human connection. Left unchecked, it can destroy relationships, intimacy, and even mental health.
The Path Forward
The answer isn’t repression but discipline. True sexual health comes from seeking the right partner and avoiding the destructive spiral of extreme sexual practices, pornography, and fantasy indulgence. Just as we practice discipline in food, exercise, and money, we must also apply discipline to sex.
The world may say money is the root of evil, but from decades of observation, I believe the real danger lies in our inability to master sexual impulses. With awareness and discipline, we can reclaim balance and prevent one of humanity’s oldest forces from becoming its greatest downfall.
