Insomnia
by Dr. Reese
Insomnia is a common sleep disorder where you have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting good-quality sleep. This happens even if you have the time and the right environment to sleep well. Insomnia is arguably the worst condition there is. It turns you into a zombie. You walk around earth feeling like you're not human and your cognitive ability goes into the gutter.
To make matters worse, you then become scared of not sleeping. During your day you'll say stuff to yourself like I sure hope I sleep tonight. This becomes almost like a PTSD or an anxiety. If you go to the medical monopoly they will open up their treasure chest of legal drugs and give you a taste of hypnotic pharmaceuticals. These drugs may work for a few months, but then your tolerance goes up, and now you're stuck.
Here are the root causes of insomnia from my head-to-toe healing perspective.
Root Cause #1: Nutritional Deficiency.
There are 90 essential nutrients that the body needs to import every day. That's 16 vitamins, 60 minerals, 12 aminos, and 2 or 3 EFA's. If you are deficient, your brain chemistry gets thrown off. When it comes to sleeping, it's mostly deficiencies in the hard tissue category.
Root Cause #2: Blood Sugar.
You see if you're not processing sugar properly then the sugar is staying in your blood for too long and it's creating inflammation. At the root, this is nutritional deficiency too because certain minerals are needed to process sugar. So if you're deficient and you keep eating and drinking sugar, you're in trouble.
Root Cause #3: The Mind-Body Syndrome or TMS.
This is a lack of mindfulness where your negative thinking directly affects your body. Please understand that you have a computer in your skull. Your brain spits out data that operates in patterns or algorithms. If your computer is pumping out Michael Myers-type thoughts, then your frequency goes down and your body suffers. Keep in mind that your brain is connected to your spine and your spine acts as a circuit breaker that sends electricity throughout the body. When someone is caught in their head and worried about the future, they will have trouble sleeping more than likely. The biggest fear is death and guess what sleeping is? It's a daily living death. You literally lose consciousness and pass out. Those who are scared to die subconsciously have trouble sleeping because of this fear.
Root Cause #4: Your Environment.
The temperature and the brightness of the room matter. Humans just sleep better in a cold and dark environment.
Root Cause #5: Computer and phone screens.
Too much screen time close to bed will throw you off.
Root Cause #6: Your Routine is Thrown Off.
They call this the Sarcadian Rhythm. If you go to bed at 2am, then your body will want that. If you go to sleep at 9pm, then your body will crave that. Going to bed at different times confuses the body.
Root Cause #7: Flat Out Pain.
So many people come through my clinic who are miserable and it's just really hard to sleep. Back pain, knee pain, compressed nerves, lupus, diabetes, fibromyalgia, arthritis, etc. Sometimes we have to get them feeling better before consistent sleep happens. I find that most people who have insomnia are just wound up too tight. They just care too much. It's a lack of acceptance of the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of life. They need to learn to let go.
I Wish peace and love to you and your family and I'll talk to you soon
